About Jules

My name is Jules.
I have always loved to write. Even when I was a child I remember writing as a way of expressing myself.
I desire to help people who are hurting and want to live for something much bigger than myself and this typical (but blessed) American dream. I am learning and seeking what this looks like in my life.
I am a stay at home mom and I love it and would chose this life over and over again. But I do miss exploring the other dimensions of myself, when being a mom wasn't the number one hat I wore.
I love Jesus and am so in awe of His love for me. I hope my life can show even a bit of Him in me.

Smith Family Vacation: Lake Havasu

We just got back from Lake Havasu with my family and had a wonderful time! It was Summer's 1st time at the lake and in Papa's boat. We were there for about 4 days. The entire family was there. It was great. Here are some of the memories that i don't want to forget from this trip.
1. Summer wanting to walk non-stop while holding Daddy's or nana's or auntie's hands
2. Summer and Nana playing with the sand toys for like an hour a day
3.Summer eating the Big Stick in the sand
4.Summer standing up on Dave while we were cruising in the boat with her face and hair getting crazy blown by the wind
5. Summer being Daddy's girl all week
7. Dave entertaining Summer on the way home. While I was driving, I can hear them playing and laughing hysterically for like 2 hours. It was a pure joy to listen to them.
8. Doing Tae Bo with my mom in the bedroom so no one would laugh at us.

What a wonderful time. Summer was a true river rat. Here are a few pictures from our time.

let me tell you a little about our nice weekend.
Saturday Dave and I had a date day. My parents watched Summer for the afternoon and we went down to Laguna Beach and had brunch at one of our favorite spots K'ya restaurant. It is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed some sweet couple down eating a yummy brunch on the rooftop overlooking the ocean. We then walked around adorable Laguna Beach and then ending with some frozen yogurt. In one of the shops we were browsing we bought this little knick knack that i just love the saying on it " Enjoy the little things in life. For someday you will realize they were the big things" isn't that the truth. Those sweet everyday moments are the ones we look back on as vivid, dear memories. So it is so important to embrace them all.

and it fits perfectly on our shelves in the living room.

Then Sunday my best friend Emily's son Roland got baptized. I was so honored when Emily asked me to be the Godmother of her son. I love Roland so much and have been praying for him so much even before he was born. I know God answered our prayers in blessing us with such a special little boy. It was such a wonderful morning and we really enjoyed the church service as well. It was really neat to see how many friends and family made it out to Redlands early in the morning to be there with The Smith family on this special day. Such wonderful people. Jeff and Emily then had a reception at their home. It was really fun to see all the friends and their kids together. It is so neat that we are all having children in the same seasons. Jeff and Emily, I am so proud of you and this decision to raise Roland in a faith in Jesus Christ. and Roland I love you very much and cant wait to see the way the Lord grows you and uses you in this world.
