Back to the real world!!
So I started back to work this week after a nice summer of relaxation and wedding planning. I have to say this summer felt faster then any other summer that I can remember. I really was not excited to go back to work and was especially anxious starting a new job at a new school. I am now working at Ontario Christian, which is awesome because it is five minutes from Dave's house where I will be living in 2 short months : ). I am teaching Jr. High and High School P.E. and then will be doing sports medicine part time after school for the sports team. At first I was having a hard time with the transistion. I was kinda missing my old school and the comfortable, easy enviroment I was in, and was nervous about getting my feet wet in sports medicine again that I haven't practiced much in a couple years. But now I am feeling excited. I finally have everything ready and pretty organized and am feeling more confident. The staff is so great. Last night Dave and I went to a social for all faculty and spouses and It was really fun. The staff is very supportive of family and balance in life. The more comfortable and confident I start to feel in my role there the more excited I am getting. I have felt since I first got this job that it was so clear that this is where I was supposed to be. The kids start on Tuesday so I will update next week on how things are going. Hope everyone else is doing well and happy. We can't believe it is only 2 and a half months until our wedding, but we are so so excited!!

Operation A
So Dave was given a 1930 Ford Model that has been passed down from his family. The car is amazing. a true classic. Everything on it is original and it has not been started since the 60's. Luckily Dave is a handy man. We are really hoping to get it running by the wedding so that we can take pictures in front of it! That would be so cool. We have decided that this car will always stay in the family.
So this past weekend Dave really started working hard on the car and he got so much done. He took out the whole gas tank and radiator so that he can get it cleaned. I helped a little by unscrewing a few bolts and holding certain parts for him.... : )
We are excited about it. I hope we are able to see the fruits of Dave's labor at the wedding. Until then here are a few work in progress pictures.

Lake Havasu Family Vacation.

We just got back from 5 days in Lake Havasu with my family. We had such a great great time! Probably one of my favorite trips and I have been to the lake many times. The first few days it was just me and Dave, my parents, my sister, Shannon and her friend. Then Karyn and Todd came out with the kids. It really worked out great because we were able to get quality time with everyone. We spent a lot of time hanging out at the London Bridge, went on a beautiful boat ride up the river to Topac, did some wakeboarding and even did some fishing. My nephew, Bradley was so excited to go fishing, he was talking about it everyday. So we took him fishing. He was so cute and excited. Dave was great in helping him and helped him catch his first fish! Bradley did great, he was funny though when it was time to reel in the fish, he got a little scared.
The view from the house was an amazing view of the lake and the city lights and the sky was so clear of stars. At night we spent some time just relaxing on the patio with a pina colada. Bradley was so fun as he sat out with Dave and I for a long time just looking at the stars too.
One night on the trip we had quite a "exciting" boat ride. We had dropped everyone else back at the house and me and Dave and my parents decided to stay out later and have dinner out on the lake. We were at the London Bridge and it was about sundown and real pretty out. It started getting stormy and windy so we decided it was time to head in. Once we got out of the channel we realized it was a lot more stormy then we had thought. The waves in the lake were ocean huge! We were getting soaked in the boat. My dad started to try to go faster because we had a ways to go to get back and it was the roughest boat ride I have ever been on. There was one time where I saw the heavy ice chest get about 2 feet of air. We held on tight and made it back. It was one of those times that is pretty intense and a little scary during but that you laugh about later. ( except for Dave.... he laughed the whole time: )
The 5 A's
So a handful of people have asked me about the 5 A's from my marriage class blog. So I thought I would share them in more detail.
The 5 A's is a short daily exercise that is supposed to just take about 3-5 minutes. It is one of the most valuable things we learned in our premarital class. It works really great for us because it helps us to communicate daily on things we may normally not take the time to do. It keeps open communication about things that seem really small but helps us not to bottle things up into bigger things.
Appreciate- something I appreciate about you, or that you did today.
Apology- Did I do anything to hurt, irritate or frusterate you today?
Ask- How can I help you today or this week?
Amen- HOw can I pray for you today or this week?
Affection: Show affection towards each other.
