2 month doctor visit

Summer had her 2 month doctors appointment yesterday and is doing great! She is completely healthy and growing like a weed. She has gained 5 lbs and 4 inches since birth. Looks like she is going to be tall like her mommy. She is now a whopping 13lbs and 24 inches long! We were surprised and happy that she is so big! She is in the 90th% for length and the 80% for weight which is great!
She also got all her 2 month shots. I am glad she got them as now she is protected but it was horible to watch. I felt so sad for her. Mommy and baby both cried.

Mammoth

We just got back from a long weekend in Mammoth with Daves family. This is the 3rd year of going up and it really is one of my favorite places. It is just so breathtaking and beautiful. The first year we went up in May and it snowed the whole time! It was the first time I had been in falling snow. Last year we went in August and it was perfect weather in the 70's. We went up to yosemite which is the most beautiful place I have ever seen and Dave and I spent a lot of time on the kayaks fishing and enjoying the scenery.
and this year was our first family vacation with Summer. The first day up we attempted to spend the day by the lake but ended up having a kinda hard day. Summer was not feeling well. Im not sure if it was the altitude bothering her or just being in a new place but Dave and I being brand new parents were kinda concerned and even thought about coming home early. We decided to stay and are glad we did because the next day we had a nice day. We relaxed in the condo the first half of the day and took needed naps and then we took Summer out on a realy pretty walking trail. On Sunday we got to go to our favorite breakfast place up there called The Stove! It was a good experience for us to learn how to take care of the baby outside our normal confort zone and we enjoyed time with Daves mom and sister! Summer had a lot of fun with Dave's sister Kirsten. She became a pro at making Summer smile! We are really looking forward to next years trip when Summer will be able to enjoy it!

SUMMER IS 2 MONTHS
Wow! Our little girl is 2 months. She is smiling all the time now and even a few laughs here and there. and she has started baby talk. we love hearing her coo and aww! its so cute because you can see her little mouth trying to copy the sounds we are making! and the past couple weeks she has been sleeping through the night! Whoo Hoo! I cant even tell you how wonderful this is! We are having a blast!

CONCERT IN THE PARK
We did a couple weeks at concert in the park with our good friends Brandon and Amber and there daughter and Corey and Kathie came with their little girl one week too. ( Kathie went into labor a few hours after this picture of us 3 girls at the park) It is such a fun family outing. We are so excited about this group of friends as we all have baby girls ranging in age from 2 weeks to 1 year. so fun!

Summer Rolled over!

Ok so seriously I am not trying to say that my baby is advanced or this or that as I know all parents think that ( but I guess its ok to think your baby is the best :0 ) but Summer pretty much rolled over at 1 month. She has only done it 2 times but still I was pretty amazed. I happened to be taking her one month pictures that day so she is even wearing her one month onsie! My mom was there to witness my strong little girl. We didnt get a video but thankfully we got these pictures that show the sequence pretty well.

Last Weekend Our Good Friends Nathan and Jenon got married out in Temecula. Dave was a groomsmen in the wedding. It was a great wedding! We brought Summer and she did such a good job and we had a lot of fun showing her to all of our friends. I feel like we are getting more and more comfortable just bringing Summer where we go and she is really enjoying it and generally just flows with what we are doing. We are loving having a daughter more and more each day. She is starting to show her personality and smiles and giggles. Dave is the best at making he smile. Every morning before work and as soon as he walks in the door after work, he grabs her and she starts smiling. I will have to post a video of it soon.

Dave's 32nd birthday.

Dave turned 32 yesterday!
We had a little birthday pool party for him on Saturday which was realy fun. It was a beautiful day and we had fun hangin in the pool and jacuzzi with friends. and Last night I took Dave out for a special date for his birthday. We had such a great time. Grammy Edkins came over and babysat for us. This is actually the first time we had gotten out on a date just the 2 of us since Summer was born. It was perfect. We went down to the Beach House restaurant in Laguna Beach which is one of our favorites and always has the most amazing views from your table. Since we had decided I wouldn't get Dave a gift this year. Dinner was kinda like his gift, so I told him to spurlge and get whatever he wanted and he got a nice big meal of Prime Rib and Crab Legs. I think it was a treat for him which is what i wanted. We truly had a wonderful time to just reconnect just the two of us and it was a beautiful night. The pictures will show you the awesome sunset we got to enjoy while eating dinner.
Then we got home and Dave wanted to spend some time with his baby girl on his birthday. As soon as he picked her up and started talking to her she was just gazing at him and started smiling alot. It was so sweet!
I think Dave had a great 32nd birthday! I sure enjoyed it.

I just came across a couple of these pictures I wanted to show you guys. I love this one with Summer and her teddy bear. Dave must have taken this without me knowing because I just found it and just think its soo cute :)
These are some pictures of Summer in the cradle. My Mom's mom gave her this cradle. Me and my two sisters slept in it as babies and my niece and nephew and now Summer too. It is very special. My mom has pictures of me in it and they look just like these ones of Summer.

The pictures of Summer in her swim suit and hat was our little pool day at my parents house with Brandon and Amber. We loved dressing Summer in her little beach attire.. so fun! Summer and her little friend Jayda hanging out for the first time. We hope they look back on this picture when they are older and are still good friends!
